Soccer is a family tradition in our home. All of my children have played soccer. Even Brittany, who was our softball player, played for one season in keeping with the tradition. While they all have played, Seth and Ryan have spent a better part of their youth eating, sleeping, and breathing soccer. It is typical for us to drive over three hours one way to play a game.
This translates into many hours on a soccer field.
Hope was born on a Thursday and was at her first game Monday night.
It was only natural that Hope play soccer.
Oh, but Hope has a mind of her own.
Don’t get me wrong, she is on a team. At her brothers’ insistence.
We even get her dressed and take her to the field.
She even stands near her best buddy on the team.
But play?? Oh, no.
She has too many other wonderful things to do.
Pick flowers, talk to the other players, talk to the parents on the sidelines, and even try to escape to go to the tempting playground.
The only time she is really in the game is when her awesome coach has her by his side. (Or is carrying her down the field.)
Oh well, at least we are keeping with tradition.
Not to mention all the great fun we have at the park with family and friends!

yes, she very much has a mind of her own.
she is so cute in her uniform!
Thanks Amanda! The shirt hangs past her shorts when it isn't tucked in. All the little ones look so cute running around on the field.
